Lafayette’s beauty and quiet, rural atmosphere provides a variety of resources and recreational activities to its residents, most notably the Lafayette reservoir; offering paved walking and natural hiking trails, boating, and fishing. 

Stretching along Mt. Diablo Boulevard from Orinda to Walnut Creek, an eclectic mix of stores and restaurants are all within easy access throughout the Downtown Lafayette area, which is frequented by residents and visitors alike.

Lafayette is a perfect location for residents of all ages. Located here are some of California’s top primary schools, as well as a Community Center which offers a myriad of activities for all Lafayette residents, from preschoolers to seniors.  Lafayette is also home to many local theaters, the Lafayette Reservoir, and the Iron Horse trail.  

From the quaint to the unusual to the necessary, Lafayette contains many distinctive specialty shops, an antiques district, drug stores, clothing, jewelry, art galleries, groceries, toys, and a wide range of dining experiences. It is a pleasant and practical place to shop, amongst many other activities.

Lafayette is approximately 20 miles east of San Francisco and 50 miles north of Silicon Valley.
