Laden with grand, mature homes on large, beautiful lots and surrounded by rolling hills and majestic oak trees, it’s no wonder why Diablo has one of the priciest zip codes in the country. Built around one of the oldest country clubs in the country, the Village of Diablo offers its residents easy access to all kinds of outdoor activities, including golf, tennis, hiking and biking, while still within close proximity to major metropolitan centers.
At the center of this charming neighborhood is the 1916 post office, which not only serves as a place to drop your mail, but a social location for many of its residents. For the past 30 years, the most popular tradition in Diablo, the annual "Ice Cream Social", has taken place here as an opportunity to celebrate their community.
The Diablo Country Club is another central spot for recreation in town. This private club was founded in 1914 and sits on the grounds of what was once a country estate during the railroad era of the late 1800's. The families of gold mining tycoons and railroad barons came here to escape from their work during the summer months. The country club is complete with an 18-hole golf course, a swim and fitness center, tennis and bocce courts. It is also home to the Diablo Sharks swim team, which has been developing star athletes for over 40 years.
Little known fact: The bottom floor in the Swiss Chalet townhouses on the Diablo Country Club property were formerly horse stables.
Diablo is approximately 35 miles east of San Francisco and 45 miles north of Silicon Valley.
